2010

It’s 2010 already?? What? I disappeared for awhile because I needed some time to think about my work. Where I want to go with it and how to get excited again. So, I got myself an art studio, abandoned all my previous work, and started making ugly drawings! I’m sure my new stuff won’t look too much different from my old stuff, but the stuff you won’t notice is the stuff that’ll be important to me. Also, I’m also going to cut myself some slack since I started a new job the end of last year… which I am loving!

The above a little “love-sketch” or fan art to Kat Morris, who is a storyboarding all the way in California for the Regular Show at Cartoon Network!

I’m also working on a painting, and it is getting crazy sloppy but it’s good I’m getting my hands so dirty. I’ll be posting some of the doodles/sketches later.

ps – 2010, I love you already. Please be kind to me, and I will be kind to you.

progress

Trying new things. Mainly how to not suck.

It’s time to get a little more provocative and a little less scared.

made my day!

Holy cow! Someone nice posted one of my illustrations on fffound!! Heck yes!

Other people that have been nice enough to link me recently include designyoutrust.com, coisa ‘74, and chainsawsandjelly.com. Thanks strangers!

Hopefully, I’ll have some new work up soon, and some promo pieces printed! Time to get on that freelancing thing.

more august

My show at Destination is also ending this weekend. I had a great opening and a good run. Above is my work in the gallery… can you guess which pieces are mine?

Meanwhile, I’m collaborating with Diana Ho and Jessica Ruliffson on a puppet show next month! We’ll also have awesome paintings to show in conjunction with the show. Below is the amazingly crafted puppet that Diana made based on Jess. Details about the show to come later!

august

I got tons of new stuff, but in the mean time… here’s this new piece.

fall

Pretty upset that summer is almost over, but I can’t wait for fall. It’s the most romantic time of the year.

In the mean time, I’ve been graciously featured in Art in Brooklyn and I have a group show opening this Thursday!

growth

I’ve got another group show coming up at the end of July, and I’ll have about ten pieces in the show. My biggest show yet. Time to get really busy.

This past month I had a birthday, got two new jobs, and a few upcoming shows.

I got a lot of work to do.

tired

Hey. I made this. Designed and hand coded it in two days. I am exhausted.

In the meantime, I’ve got a party with comics with ladies, birthday party + opening, MoCCa this weekend, Renegade Craft Fair, and a meeting about puppets.

I am exhausted.

ps. that crazy illustration is by Aleth Romanillos. Boy has got mad skillz. Jerk.
